Short version: TraceKit does not collect, store, or share your browsing data or the URLs you trace. Everything runs locally in your browser.
TraceKit is a Chrome extension that follows redirect chains for URLs you provide, identifies affiliate networks and tracking parameters, and shows you the final destination — entirely within your browser.
TraceKit stores the following in chrome.storage.local — on your device only, never transmitted to us:
You can clear this data at any time by clicking "Clear history" inside the extension or by removing the extension from Chrome.
When you enter a license key to unlock Pro features, the extension sends only your license key to our verification server (extensions-licenses.vercel.app) to confirm it is valid. No browsing data, URLs, or personal information is sent. Once verified, Pro works offline — the verification server is not contacted again unless you re-enter your key.
If you configure a webhook URL in Settings, TraceKit will send trace results to that URL when you trigger a trace. This is an entirely opt-in feature — no data is sent anywhere by default. The webhook endpoint is one you configure and control.
When you trace a URL, your browser makes HTTP requests directly to the destination servers — the same requests your browser would make if you clicked the link. These requests originate from your IP address. TraceKit does not proxy, intercept, or log these requests.
TraceKit is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance.
